UNSCENE THEATRE
COMMUNITY PROJECT
About the project
Theatre should be for everyone. Whether it’s an audience member or taking part. There should be no boundaries or restrictions. That’s the opinion which we hold. Welcome to our first Unscene Theatre Community Project. Thank you for your interest in taking part. We really appreciate it.
The aim is to work with a small group of blind and partially sighted adults alongside a group of sighted performers working collaboratively to explore ways of making theatre more accessible.
It’s a chance to build confidence and develop ways of breaking down barriers, building a safe, creative environment where we can work collaboratively supporting each other and building upon strengths whilst also learning and sharing new skills.
Picture shows a group of the Unscene Suffolk members rehearsing. Two actors are talking whilst a group stand holding tree branches.

"Several years ago, I was fortunate enough to work with the Unscene Suffolk Theatre group. It was such an inspirational experience. I learnt so much. Since having problems with my own sight, it has brought home to me how important projects like this really are. " (Alfie James)
