PUPPETRY FOR WELLBEING

Join PuppetSoup, Alfie James Productions, Black Dog Theatre Creation and Women Unscene for a fantastic adult afternoon course creating puppets and puppetry in a friendly online group.

This is a free group course where everyone is welcome to learn about puppets, have contact with a friendly online group, enhance wellbeing through participating in the arts and of course, have lots of puppetry and crafting fun!

The classes will be held online on the following days and times (UK time):

Tuesday 6th October 12.30 - 2.30pm

Tuesday 13th October 12.30 - 2.30pm

Tuesday 20th October 12.30 - 2.30pm

This course is for all adults over 18 years of age who have an interest in puppetry, theatre, crafting or the arts, or for those who would just like to be part of a group on Tuesday afternoons and learn something a little different!

You won’t need any special tools or to spend a lot of money to join in, we will be using recycled objects, basic craft supplies (such as paper and pencils) and getting creative on a very low budget!  Come and join the puppetry fun!

Don’t worry if you aren’t confident with making crafts or puppets, the classes will be relaxed, easy to follow and there will be no pressure for you to speak if you don’t want to.

You will have the chance to make online friends from a broad group of people including artists and theatre makers.

Everyone is welcome whether you have no experience at all or even if you have lots of experience.

If you are retired, a single parent, struggle with loneliness or isolation, have mental health challenges, have a disability or just want to learn a bit about puppetry in a friendly group, then you are also SO welcome to come along!

The classes will follow a journey of puppet making over 3 weeks initially.  You will have the chance to learn with a multi award winning team and there will be an exciting range of learning opportunities over the course.

The objective of the classes is to create a fun and friendly online puppet making group for adults, where people can learn new skills, develop their confidence, meet new friends and attend a weekly group with a positive purpose.

This group has been set up to help give access to the arts, including for those who may not be able to afford to go on puppetry or craft courses, and will help keep the arts active within the community, particularly during this unsettled time where people are less able to travel far from their homes.

If this course sounds interesting to you and you’d like to sign up, please read and fill out the form and return it to us!

Places are limited to keep the group small and friendly.
