Update
Like most other theatre and arts companies, our work was and has been heavily affected by the Covid:19 virus. We were forced to cancel all our live performances and face to face workshops/rehearsals. Despite this, with the support from the Arts Council and our current other funding bodies and participants; we have successfully adapted the way that we work. Many of our participants are vulnerable adults and it was important to us that we ensure that we continue to offer support to these members. We have continued to run all of our activities via Zoom so that we ensure that everyone remains safe. Instead of performing live, we have learnt how to create audio play recordings and have successfully developed a larger audience. Our Artistic Director has completed an online Covid:19 Awareness and Health and Safety course and we continue to put into place any risk assessments and advice when working. We have successfully developed new links with other artistic and community organisations to work together to support each other particularly during these difficult times and to help to keep the arts and theatre industry alive and to reach audiences.
Stay safe
Alfie James

RUPTURED DUCK - THE AUDIO PLAY
All Fiona has ever dreamed of is to be on stage. When she is performing, she becomes alive. There’s just one problem…she has stills disease which has forced her to live her life in a wheelchair. Inspired by the experiences of artist Sophie Weaver and featuring a cast of both disabled and no-disabled performers about following your dreams and overcoming obstacles.
Part of the Ruptured Duck Theatre Project which explored disability and accessibility in the arts.
Performed as part of the Watford Fringe.
MY BOY DANNY - LIVE
“My Boy Danny” is the new play by award-winning Writer, Actor and Director Alfie James. Every night Ange stands by the window looking out with the hope to see her son one last time looking up at her from across the road. Instead, every night for the past eleven months there has been a shadow standing there in his place. Desperate for answers, Ange lets the shadow in.
Rory is just a regular awkward teenage boy. Or at least he was until that night when it all went wrong. Desperate to tell his story and to reach out to a woman he had never met but knew so much about.
The play was originally recorded as an Audio play in 2020 during lockdown and received positive reviews and feedback from audience members. Phil Hewitt, Brighton & Hove Independent called it a “powerfully performed play which is both sensitively and poetically written. Five Stars!”
